Virtual Null Modem Emulator

This Null Modem emulator allows you to create an unlimited number of virtual COM ports. The software emulates serial port functionality connected by virtual null modem cable in such a way that the system does not see the difference between virtual and real hardware ports. Excellent null modem emulation provides you with the ability to test and debug applications, supports different control lines and enables data transfer at high speed. The ports are connected in pairs via virtual null modem cable: the data written to the application at one end instantaneously read by the application at the other end and vice versa.

When you need Virtual Null Modem software

Most computers nowadays do not provide for a hardware COM port, or even if there is one, you might want more. This is when you need virtual ports connected via virtual rs 232 null modem cable.

How Null Modem Emulator solves it

To exchange data via virtual null modem connection applications do not need hardware, or rather additional hardware. Create virtual ports, assign them any name, including a name of the existing real port, and pair them via virtual null-modem. An application at one end of this virtual bridge reads everything written to the application at the other end within seconds.

Virtual Serial Port Driver benefits

Adding COM ports to the system is easy

Serial port emulator doesn’t require any additional hardware, i.e. no cables will clutter your desk. Your real COM ports remain free and you can use them for another purpose.

COM ports number is almost unlimited

With Virtual RS232 Null Modem you can create any number of virtual COM ports. The bridge formed via virtual null-modem is stable and secure, you do not need to worry about data loss.

Virtual ports are as good as real ports

Virtual ports implement the real ports functionality in such a way that the applications do not recognize them as virtual. Virtual serial ports support all hardware signal lines. You can choose to setup any type of signal line connection. If the emulated device works at a fixed speed, Null Modem emulation has the baud rate.

Features of Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO

Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO is a comprehensive and effective software tool that enhances the features and functionality of Virtual Serial Port Driver. This all modem emulator software allows the creation of virtual COM port bundles with customizable parameters, offering a versatile solution that can be employed in many diverse situations. Management of both physical and virtual serial ports can be accomplished with the user-friendly interface of Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO.

Splitting and Joining COM ports

You can split physical COM ports (COM1) into multiple serial ports (COM2, COM3, COM4) by using Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO. When you create these virtual com port drivers, they appear to your system as copies of the original physical port. Another feature of this software tool is the ability of multiple applications to share physical serial interfaces. This Virtual Null Modem software tool lets you link a number of real serial interfaces to one virtual port. Serial applications connecting to the virtual port can receive data simultaneously from all of the connected serial ports.

Creating bundle connections

Creating and managing complex bundles of COM ports is a feature that is unique to Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO. The implications of this functionality is your ability to transmit serial data to an unlimited number of physical or virtual rs232 null modem cables. COM ports receiving data on the ‘IN’ can redirect to all of the bundle’s ‘OUT’ side serial ports and this process can work in both directions.

Management of hardware control lines is improved when you create a Main port for both the ‘IN’ and ‘OUT’ side of a bundle.

Switching ports automatically

An important feature of Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO enables broader functionality for applications that can only take advantage of a limited number of serial ports. This option uses a switcher to enable your application to employ a single virtual null modem cable to be connected to several physical ports. The same name can be assigned to all of your ports as well.

When your application requires a COM port connection, the switcher will identify an open serial port from the list of connected ports and make it available to your app. This allows your program to seamlessly interact with any free port while appearing to be connected to the same port.

Merging COM ports

One of Virtual Serial Port Driver PRO advanced features enables the addition of unlimited numbers of virtual null-modem interfaces to a single COM port bundle that has not been divided into ‘IN’ and OUT’ sides. Replication from the single port to all connected physical and virtual ports of the bundle allows the simultaneous exchange of data between multiple devices and applications.
