Splitting Serial Ports

To split one serial port into several virtual ones, do the following:

  1. Сreate a new port bundle. To do that, click the “Split” icon on the vertical menu at the left, then click the “Split real port” button: Select a real port which will be split
  2. Choose the real port you want to split and the virtual ports that will communicate with the split real port. Add ports to the list by clicking the “+” button, and remove them by clicking the “-” button. Than set one on the virtual ports as the main by clicking the: Select a real port which will be split button. To undo this action, click Select a real port which will be split For any selected port, you can use the Select a real port which will be split button to access its settings.

    Also, you can enter a custom name for this bundle into the “Description” field for easier identification, and/or enable strict baudrate emulation by ticking the respective checkbox:

  3. Click the “Create” button. Now you can click this port bundle in the Bundle tree to view its settings: settings

Note: If you receive an error message when creating a port bundle, you can analyze the information shown in the Activity log.
